出外旅遊，住酒店，必須揀擇。《 Travel+ Leisure》以酒店位置、設施、房間設備和餐飲質素等，評選出全球百大最佳酒店。結果，去年躋身 10大的， 7間被叮出榜，榜首更是首次上榜、在南非 Western Cape的 Bushmans Kloof酒店。
中港台共有 10間酒店躋身全球 100大最佳酒店，本港佔有 3間，內地 6間，當中香港港島香格里拉酒店排名最高，一上榜排第 32，半島酒店排第 35位，比去年第 23位為低。

2008 Review

Thank you to Kit, his blog motivates me to write a blog to summarize things that happened in 2008. It's been a very long time since I wrote my last blog, but as there isn't much to update in my life (which is a good thing on one hand), therefore there isn't much for me to write.

Looking back at 2008, there were a few things happened in my life, the biggest one was moving onto a new job taking on a new role at work. To recap:

Health
In general, I am healthy but I think from time to time (usually once for every 2 month), I will do get sick (perhaps from stress or anti-work syndromes). Anyways, I will try to keep myself in a good health this year, as a day of from work means more work the day after.

Finance
I don't have much affect from the financial tsunami as I don't have any interests in stocks or funds. Perhaps the only affect that I have from it will be my MPF and how it affects the overall market situation, where people are more cautious of how and what they spend on. This would have a dramatic impact to my industry, as traveling is always a dispensable item, people can avoid to travel as much as they can, especially based on the existing technology that is available to the public.

Interpersonal relations
Overall, I spent less time with all my friends since this new job and role that I took in the beginning of 2008. Still try to maintain contact with them either via email or facebook. I just love facebook as we can reach friends and family easily, also it helps to know the latest update about them.

Work
New job and new responsibility at work means longer working hours and less personal life. Up till now, I'm still trying to get the balance of work and personal life, in the same time to have good quality of life too. This is just very hard for me, but I'm sure I will try to work on this in 2009. I had experienced many changes in our management within 9 months of the new opening. It is hard for me and I tried to learn how to adapt changes asap. Hopefully things will be better this year, thank god that I have a good team to work with. It is always nice to have good working colleagues in such environment, otherwise I won't be able to last in this company for such a long time.

Travel
I went to Tokyo and Hakone last year and I just love those places. I will definitely need to visit there again, especially hot spring for relaxation.

Relationship
There isn't any changes with my relationship with Kit, many people have asked me why we aren't getting married after we are together for such a long time. For me (hopefully for him too), we believe that the marriage is nothing more than a signed paper document from the official government. As long as we are happy nothing needs to change from our current situation, perhaps one day things may change in the future. Who knows?

Anyways, let's see what will change in a year time.

Night out with my friends

It's been really nice to have a great night out with my friends, this is something that I've been doing for the past Saturdays - drinking, eating, get together with different friends. I just feel good to see them again and catch up and this would give me the energy to work to last for the week.

There are many things around me that are happening, things has been changed so much since I've left each company. I am thankful that I have the chance to work with the best people and have their support during my time working with them, as well after. All the best to their upcoming challenges, hopefully one day I would be able to gather the best people to become my dream team.

New job @ NNRK

I guess as what the title states, this is my recently update. I have left InterContinental Hong Kong and moved on to NNRK. Some people has said this was a crazy move, as ICHK should have offered me lots more than this new job. The answer to this is yes and no, it offered me the knowledge and skills about this industry, at least I would know what a luxury hotel brand expects. Just hope one day I would go back to a five star property, but in the meantime, I will learn and train myself at NNRK, it is going to be challenging , I guess after this opening experiences, I would gain more for myself. Afterall I am pleased to have this new move, although it is very tiring at this moment, things should be much better in a later stage.

The grand opening ceremony was on last Friday, May 9, 2008. It was some kind of ceremony and party that night, really busy but I had fun as well. During the day time, I went out with the media group for a day trip in HK, obviously my heart was left in the office and think about the different work load that I had. On the other hand, it was great fun, I have experienced something that I never tried before, i.e. Dolphin watch in HK, visiting the bird market. It is a valuable experience and I guess it is good for me to have a day out just to relax, afterall it was a stress month for me. 

The moment that I have decided to take this job, I have decided to step up on the plate and take up the challenges. I hope things are going to be fine and we as a team can work better and closer together. May my worst nightmare will never happen.......

幸福

有Ｄ人話要係年輕果時要好好努力，要辛苦Ｄ，　但係努力既背後會犧牲幾多呢？　如果我依家做既野都係為左我既晚年，咁樣係依個過程所失去既野，到老左又會唔會後悔呢？
